Junction City Bowling at 2740 Old 51 Road, Sandoval, Illinois.

Tonight was our first time bowling there. We did Cosmo bowling. The kids liked the lights and we enjoyed the mix of music. They have a RC car racing area that looked interesting. We had ordered appetizers while we were there. If you pay with a credit card they charge you an extra 4% so bring cash. When my husband went to pay the bill for our shoes and the games of bowling the lady working asked if he had a tab for the food. He was confused. I walked in right when this was occurring and told her we didn’t. I had paid for the food when I ordered it. She said okay when she saw me. To be fair I don’t think she was trying to get him to pay again to be deceitful. I think they were just not organized (another example was we ordered an appetizer basket with 4 items and we had to go pick up each item individually...maybe they only have 1 fryer??)After we paid and walked out the male employee came outside and said that someone walked out on a food tab and they thought it was our lane. I told him we already paid for our food and he said he’d speak with her again. Then she came out and said no someone walked out but it wasn’t us. Meanwhile we pulled up our bank account to show them the food was charged to our account in addition to the charge for the games and the bowling. This really dampened our first experience there. It was embarrassing and upset our kids. I had electronic receipt proof we paid but that really shouldn’t have been handled that way. If they weren’t sure when we were inside she could have asked and j could have shown her but running out and saying someone didn’t pay their tab and they thought it was us was embarrassing. When I told the female (who I suspect was the owner) we were embarrassed by this she just said the guy is usually really nice. I don’t doubt that he’s nice but you should really get a process established so you aren’t falsely accusing people. If you do tabs hold their credit card so they cannot walk out on you. Or at least discreetly ask when we’re inside and I would have shown you the charge on our account if your process is broken and you cannot remember who owes what.
